As Nigerians prepares to mark another Independence anniversary, it gladdens my heart to know that today – 30th day of September 2012, is the birthday of one of God’s chosen vessel for this generation.

The chosen and anointed vessel that is marking his birthday on Sunday 30th September, 2012 is Pastor Bayo Williams Olugbemi.

An authority in the financial and corporate world, an innovative high-flier among contemporaries, an admirable mentor for the purposeful entrepreneurs and a passionate minister in the vineyard of God with a focus at adding value to every persons that crosses his path. Above all, Pst Bayo Olugbemi is a man with great humility to serve God and man.

As a protegee to this highly respected and hardworking Nigerian, i wish to confess that his virtues are worthy of emulation. I also pray that God’s grace will continually take him, his   family, businesses and ministries to higher heights in Jesus name, amen.

One of Africa’s foremost and renowned poet, novelist, professor and critic, Prof. Albert Chinualumogu Achebe has published the long-awaited memoir about the happenings in the Biafra titled – ”There Was A Country: A Personal History of Biafra”.

The 81 years old Achebe is presently based in the United State of America where he lectures in various university as professor of literature. As a poet and novelist, some of his famous books are: Things Fall Apart, Arrow of God, No Longer At Ease, The Man of The People, among other numerous novels.

According to Allen Lane, the publisher of the book,- ”There was a country is a distillation of vivid observation and considered research and reflection” by Chinua Achebe. The book relates Nigeria’s birth pangs in the context of Achebe’s own development as a man and a writer, and examines the role of the artist in times of war. Prof. Chinua Achebe ended the book with a poem – After a war. ”After a war life catches desperately at passing hints of normality like vines entwining a hollow twig: it famished roots close on rubble and every piece of broken glass”.

“There Was a Country: A Personal History of Biafra” was published on Thursday 27th September, 2012 in the United Kingdom by Allen Lane, a division of Penguin; and will soon be released in Nigeria. It is also schedule to be released in the United States on October 11.

27th of September every year is the the birthday of one of the greatest and most successful man on earth – Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo; the Founded and Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel). Born 58 years ago in Oshogbo, Osun State but a native of Omu-Aran in Kwara State, Nigeria.

Bishop David Oyedepo received the Mandate in May 1983 to liberate the world from the oppression of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith. Through this mandate and other enviable manifestation of God in his life, he has become a living testimony of the existence of Supernatural God through his Words of Faith, Prosperity, Sound Health, Business Prowess, Expanded Ministries, among other blessings.

He is married to Pastor Faith Oyedepo and blessed with four children. He is ably assisted in the David Oyedepo Ministries International (DOMI) by Bishop David Abioye.

One of my favorite quote from him is  “there is no mountain anywhere; every man’s ignorance is his mountain”.

The goodnews in Chelsea FC and Super Eagles camps is that one of their own is now a dad. The newest dad is Victor Moses, whose girlfriend just put to bed today – a bouncing baby boy in the United Kingdom.

The 21 year-old Victor Moses was excited to be a father and gave he God all the glory as he named the boy Brentley Moses.

The goodnews in the celebrity world is that one of the world singing idol – Sharira is pregnant for her boyfriend and Spanish footballer, Gerard Pique. Shakira divulge the news on Wednesday 19^th September, 2012 on her facebook page. In excitement she wrote on her facebook thus: “As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned.” From the content of the post, it shows that the pregnant Shakira is on top of the world again.

Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, known mononymously as Shakira, is a Colombian singer-songwriter, dancer, record producer, choreographer and model who emerged in the music scene of Colombia and Latin America in the early 1990s. It should be noted that Shakira officially confirmed the relationship between her and Pique on 29 March 2011 via Twitter and Facebook posting their pictures with a caption reading, “I present to you my sunshine.”

The former President of Ghana, Jerry Rawlings has declared that the death of President John Evans Atta Mills occurred as a divine intervention so as to propel the ruling party, National Democratic Congress, to retain power in the forthcoming election in December 2012. The outspoken former leader said ‘divine intervention created a great deal of goodwill for President John Mahama…’

While addressing the Volta Regional House of Chiefs in a meeting, he said President Mahama has revive the party from its dwindling position in the heart of Ghananians through the exemplified leadership qualities and the will to carry the party and citizens along in policy formulation and governance.

It should be noted that President Jerry rawlings is the founder of National Democratic Congress and his wife Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings was alleged to have sponsored the formation of the National Democratic Party (NDP). His comments could be viewed as a political statement to win support for President John Mahama

Is Jerry Rawlings making these statement as a party member or as a godfather in Ghana?

Indications from the presidency shows that President Goodluck Jonathan may instruct the Central bank of Nigeria Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to suspend the printing of the N5,000 banknotes and the conversion of some banknotes to coins (Project Cure) till further notice because of its unpopularity among Nigerians. This could be as a result of the meeting held by the leadership of the National Assembly and the President; in which the printing of the N5,000 banknote was one of the top issues discussed.

Sources said no categorical statement was made by the President Jonathan to Senator David Mark and Alhaji Tambuwal, but there are indications that the Presidency will discuss with the CBN governor and the Economic Team on the need to abandon the project since most Nigerians opposed the printing of a higher banknote.

When Elisha cried in desperation and smote the waters, the scripture says the river parted for him like it did for his spiritual father (2 Kings 2:14). This tells us that whatever happens to the father can happen to the son as long as the latter satisfies the conditions. For instance, Jesus walked on water and Peter did the same when he acted in faith but his colleagues could not do so because they failed to dare. One of the most exciting passages in the Bible is John 14:12. Here Jesus says:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do: because I go unto my Father.
